Hello everyone, my name’s Kian Wilcox. For the past few weeks I’ve been looking at different deployment options and interpreters for Ruby and Rails. One of the more interesting pairs is JRuby and Glassfish. With this pair you can mix in Java code and libraries in your Rails application, and deploy it easily by wrapping it up in a .WAR file. If you’ve been having trouble getting everything installed and running properly, or haven’t taken a look at it yet, check out this screencast. In it I download and install JRuby and Glassfish, show you the steps you’ll need to take to wrap up your Rails application with the Goldspike plugin, and then deploy it on Glassfish. Feedback would be much appreciated.

When I try to watch the video, the text is off the screen, so I cannot see what you are talking about.
Sorry about that, ano, I recorded this video at far too high a resolution. Try making the video smaller, but if that doesn’t help, there will be a patch in about a week. I’m heading off to Chicago for the rails EDGE conference, but I’ll be recording another version at a lower resolution afterwards. Thanks for the heads up!
